29 Do’s and Don’ts from Women in Manufacturing to Help Advance Your Career

In the most recent Thomas Industrial Report, Career Advancement for Manufacturing Annual Report, conducted in partnership with Women in Manufacturing, Thomas gathered valuable information on the make-up of the manufacturing industry, common perceptions and company stances, and even direct insight from participants. Research revealed that women make up 33% of the manufacturing workforce and 26% hold leadership positions. This may be due to the lower number of women seeking out a career in manufacturing (30%) compared to men (46%). However, men (80%) and women (75%) are both likely to recommend a career in manufacturing once part of the sector. Additionally, progress is being made as respondents agreed that women have made significant progress in industry over the last five years.
