Remember when Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg shared the details of his daily routine via his Instagram account? The punishing schedule includes a 2:30 am wake-up call, two breakfasts, a daily round of golf, a double workout, lots of scheduled “family time,” and a 7:30 pm bedtime. Oh, and — of course — a few minutes in a -130oF cryotherapy chamber, which is designed to enhance sporting performance and rehabilitate muscles following intense workouts. This lifestyle clearly works for Mark, which is great. But does that mean we should all strive to adhere to such rigid schedules in our pursuit of happiness and success? Is every successful person secretly following a similar agenda? In short, probably not. Plenty of successful people don’t thrive on routine and rigidity. But there are certainly some fundamental behaviors that contribute to success. You just need to pick and choose the ones that work for you.
