The COVID-19 pandemic dramatically shifted how the world works and what employees want from their jobs. But it also made the role of technology in nearly every aspect of modern life even more abundantly clear. So it probably shouldn’t be surprising that in an era of hiring struggles and increased worker empowerment, technology jobs offer some of the best pay, the most available positions, and the highest worker satisfaction. Company review and employment site Glassdoor released its annual list of the best jobs in the U.S., and the 2022 list features tech jobs in nine of the top 10 spots. The company bases its rankings on median base salary, job satisfaction ratings, and the number of openings posted on Glassdoor. Enterprise architect, with more than 14,000 openings and a median salary of nearly $145,000 per year, topped this year’s list, followed by full stack engineer, data scientist, and Dev Ops engineer.
